December 3, 2012
By E. Shawn Aylsworth of Northeast Corner Conference

Angola’s girls basketball team has risen to fourth in the latest Class 3A rankings released Dec. 3 by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.

The Hornets (8-0), who have bounced back and forth between sixth and seventh in the rankings thus far, currently reside at No. 4 behind 2011 state runner-up Benton Central, Norwell, and Lebanon and one spot ahead of Hamilton Heights.

Angola stands 5-0 in leading the Northeast Corner Conference race, with wins last week at Fairfield (58-45) and against Central Noble (88-15). The Hornets are idle till a Dec. 11 NECC battle with visiting Westview (3-4, 2-0), the only other undefeated league school.
