Mighty Bulldogs open

football season tonight

North Dallas head football coach Charles Moss talks to the players during the scrimmage against Samuel on Aug. 29.

New head football coach Charles Moss sees some “great things happening” at North Dallas High School.

Last season, the Bulldogs finished 4-6 and missed making the playoffs by one game, falling to Molina 30-7 in the final game. This season, expectations are high on making the playoffs and ending a 60-year playoff drought.

Moss, who came from Lincoln High School in June, is focusing on one game at a time, and first up is Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Farrington Field in Fort Worth.

“I expect them to run the ball, pound the ball down the field,” Moss said. “But we’ll be successful if we’re clicking on all cylinders.”

After two scrimmages against Thomas Jefferson and Samuel, Moss says there are some areas to fune-tune and clean up, such as the offensive line and passing game.

“The coaches are up for the challenge,” he said. “The players are up for the challenge too.”
