The Wildcats advanced with a 3-0 victory and won by scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-16. The Lady Bulldogs showed they could compete with the taller Woodrow team. They made dig after dig, but finding an open spot on the Woodrow side was hard to find. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row with Coach Alana Cummings at the helm. “This team has no superstars,” she said. “It’s a team build on teamwork. Teamwork. There’s no big I here.” The Lady Bulldogs lost six seniors from last year’s playoff team. This year’s squad has three seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and one freshman. “Everybody has their individual talents that they bring to the team,” said sophomore Elizabeth Acevedo. “We all bring different fundamentals to the game,” said junior Stephanie Tijerina. Cummings compared this year’s team to an engine. “You need all the parts to make it run,” she said.
