ND wrestlers finish 2nd in All City Meet

Senior Quenist Smith of North Dallas High was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the All-City Meet last weekend at Kimball High School.

The boys team finished second with 177 points behind Skyline, and the girls team finished fourth.

"The results of our team were outstanding," Coach Charles "CJ" Johnson said. "We never had a full team to compete before at North Dallas High. This really helped the team prepare for district to see what we need to do to be successful."

The district meet will be Jan. 24-25 at Sprague.

Johnson said Quenist started with him three years ago. He remembers Quenist as a respectful student and a hard worker.

"I remember when I asked him [to wrestle] his freshman year, he looked at me crazy, but continued to watch us train," Johnson said. "He came on board his sophomore year and won gold in his first tournament.

"His performance for our team is outstanding and well worth the investment to continue in this sport he loves. So recruiters look out, this is his last year."
