Can YOU help some homeless students at NDHS?

March 21, 2013
North Dallas High School Booster Club

Recently, Erin Pendleton, Mission and Outreach Project Manager at Church of the Incarnation, talked to the North Dallas Bulldogs Support League about Drop-In Fridays, the program the church is sponsoring to help the homeless students (at least 86 identified) at NDHS.

They offer a hot meal, hygiene products, clean clothes and nutritious carry-away foods. Board members brought items to the meeting, but if you are interested in helping out, the needs are great and ongoing. Erin gave us the following list of items:

Hygiene items

Soap

Shampoo

Deodorant

Toothpaste

Toothbrushes

Feminine hygiene products

Toiletries

Lip gloss

Combs

Brushes

Fun items: nail polish, hair gel, etc.

Food items (nothing like jars of peanut butter; they will only take things that can go in their backpacks)

Protein bars

Granola bars

Nuts

Fruit snacks

Uniform items (shirts are $15)

Socks

Underwear

Sleeping bags

She also said that they are trying to have inspirational speakers (prefer young people to make a connection with these kids) and mentors.

If you live in the Dallas area and would like to drop off items, you can take them to Erin at her office at Church of the Incarnation.

If you wish to send checks, please indicate in the memo line that the money is designated for NDHS Drop-in Fridays and send to Erin at:

Church of the Incarnation
3966 McKinney Ave.
Dallas, TX 75204

Thanks for any help you can give.
