Home » Tennis NewsTennis team is making a racket!February 11, 2013 North Dallas High School Booster ClubThe North Dallas tennis team took first and second place in boys doubles Feb. 8 at the Fair Oaks High School Tennis Tournament. The ND team of Misael Cordoba and Gabriel Ortuno had a bye in the first round; defeated a team from Trinity HS 8-1 in second round; and then defeated a team from R.L. Turner HS 8-0 in third round to reach the finals. The ND team of Emanuel Velazquez and Rafael Canales defeated a team from Melissa HS 8-2 in first round; defeated Trinity HS 8-3 in second round; and defeated a team from Richardson 8-2 in third round to reach the finals. In an all Bulldogs finals, Misael and Gabriel won 8-2. Division C, Boys Doubles: Misael Cordoba and Gabriel Ortuno, North Dallas — 1st place Emauel Velazquez and Rafael Canales, North Dallas — 2nd place

On Feb. 5, the North Dallas team defeated Pinkston by winning 4 of 5 matches.
Boys singles: Lorenzo Galindo won 6-0, 6-2.
Boys doubles: Misael Cordoba and Jose Gonzalez won 6-1, 6-0
Girls doubles: Karen Loya and Daisy Hernandez won 6-1, 6-1
Mixed doubles: Shayla Myers and Emanuel Velazquez won 6-1, 6-2
