575 students make A/B honor roll

February 9, 2013
North Dallas High School Booster Club

Dear Bulldog Supporters,

Great news! Did you know that 40 percent of our Bulldogs made the A/B honor list in the fall semester? That's right. 575 students at North Dallas made the academic honor list in the last six weeks. The standards are higher, the lessons and assignments are getting rigorous yet our students rise up to the expectations. Students will only rise up to the expectations adults set up for themΩ. This is a huge success to celebrate!

Monday, Feb. 4th, is our parent conference night from 4 to 8 p.m. If you have time to spare, come join us, catch the glamour and glitter and be part of our academic celebration in Hollywood style. We also need a paparazzi mob, so please feel free to bring your camera. A/B honor students will be treated with a red carpet, Oscar night style recognition. Our students' success is also your success and I want you to be part of the celebration.

Students will receive a certificate of Academic Excellence signed by President Barack Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. They will then have an opportunity to  take pictures with their parents and teachers on the red carpet. How can we afford a real red carpet? Ms. Sherri Cleaver, our social services advisor, borrowed a red carpet from Neiman Marcus to make our students and parents feel very, very special. Thank you PTSA and NDBSL for sponsoring the light dinner and snacks for parents.

I am very proud of the academic achievements of our students. I am crossing my fingers and hope that this is a foreshadowing of what's next to come in May. It is only through your support, mentoring, tutoring, financial assistance and community partnership that our most needy students were able to reach their goals. I really value all of you as part of North Dallas community. Thanks for your support to our students.

Sincerely,

Dinnah Escanilla
Principal
