Softball scrimmages start for Lady Bulldogs

The North Dallas softball team, led by coach Chris Barnhill, opens the season with a scrimmage against Sunset at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Forester Field in southeast Dallas.

The Lady Bulldogs have been waiting for this moment for quite a while.

“The team has been working together,” said Barnhill. “They’ve bonded together.”

This year’s team will be led by junior shortstop Jennifer Loera, junior pitcher Melissa Gutierrez and junior second base/shortstop Nayeli Montelongo.

Barnhill expects to contend against Seagoville and Molina for the District 11-4A title.

The Lady Bulldogs also will play six home games this season, starting against Carter at 5 p.m., Tuesday March 19.
