Athletic Banquet's Keynote Speaker - Dale Hansen
 WFAA Channel 8 sports anchor Dale Hansen will be the keynote speaker at this year’s North Dallas High School Sports Banquet on Wednesday, May 23, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The banquet, which starts at 6:30 p.m., recognizes the North Dallas High School athletes who have excelled on the field and in the classroom in 13 boys and girls sports. The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 10110 Shoreview Road in northeast Dallas. Tickets are $5 for athletes, $10 for guests and can be purchased in room 116 at school. Tickets will be sold at the school through Friday, May 18. For more information, or to get tickets, contact ND athletic director Claire Oliver at COliver@dallasisd.org. One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of the Paul Delfeld Award, which goes to the top student athlete at North Dallas High School. Former Bulldogs Geremy Aldridge and LaDedrick Washington are past winners of the award. The winner of this year's award will be announced at the banquet. Hansen is the weeknight sports anchor during the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts on WFAA Channel 8 and also hosts Dale Hansen's Sports Special on Sundays at 10:20 p.m. He has won many awards in his career, including two-time Sportscaster of the Year by the Associated Press, three-time Texas Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, among others. In 1987, Hansen was honored with the George Foster Peabody Award for Distinguished Journalism. Former North Dallas High graduate Rene Martinez spoke at last year’s banquet. Archived Broadcasts
