MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton Baseball team went 1-1 on their first day at the Ripken Experience, downing Westmoreland Community College (PA), 3-0 and then falling to Lakeland Community College (OH), 9-3. Tyler Zimmerman (1-0) earned the victory in game one, tossing a 3-hit complete game shutout. Tyler Ruoss (1 for 3) had 2 RBI has the Spartans scored 3 runs in the sixth inning to break open the 0-0 deadlock. In game two, Northampton trailed 5-3 in the 6th, but Lakeland added 4 runs to earn the 9-3 victory. Northampton, now 2-2 on the season, returns to action on Tuesday when they face Cuyahoga Community College (OH) at 10am.
