BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Ocean County College, seeded 4th, upset #1 seed Northampton, 69-60, on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center in the quarterfinals of the Region XIX Tournament.

For Northampton, the defending Region XIX champions, it was only their second loss of the season and their first at home since November 4th, 2011.

Tiara Aziz scored 20 points, giving her 908 for her career, and hauled down 11 rebounds and Alyssa Gibson added 10 points, 4 assists and 4 steals in their last game for the Spartans.

"We never got on track," lamented Head Coach Art Wolfe, "I don't know if it was the layoff, or what ... but credit Ocean, they are much improved since we played them first semester and they battled all night.  We made run with under 3 minutes to play to cut it to 6, but they they came right back at us."

Ocean, now 16-11 overall, was 3-7 at one point after battling through the effects of Hurricane Sandy during the early part of the season.  

The Vikings will now face the #1 seed from the GSAC, Passaic County Community College in the Region XIX semi-finals.

Northampton finishes the season with a record of 24-2.
