Tullis Leads Spartans to Final Four

February 26, 2013
By Megan Maxwell of Northampton Community College

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Jaylonn Tullis scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to help lead the #1 seeded Spartans to a 97-86 victory over 4th seeded Bergen Community College on Monday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center, to advance Northampton to the Region XIX Final Four.

"Offensively we really clicked tonight," commented Head Coach Kevin Foley, "however I thought at times our defense was a little suspect ... we are going to need to clamp down on Thursday vs. Union if we want to advance."

Andrew Miller added 22 points and 9 rebounds, while Malcolm Lyles chipped in with 12.

Northampton, now 19-8 overall, advances to the Region XIX Final Four where they will face 2nd seeded Union County College, who defeated 3rd seeded Montgomery County Community College, 83-64, on Monday night.

The Spartans faced Union earlier in the year, falling 82-76 on January 17th at the Owls Nest.

The time for Thursday's game will be announced on Tuesday February 26th.
