February 4, 2013
By Megan Maxwell of Northampton Community College

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Jaylonn Tullis had 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead Northampton to a 93-73 victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday afternoon in a crucial EPAC matchup.

Dontae Davis added 29 points (23 in the first half) and 5 steals and teammed with Zack Hankerson (11 points) to shoot a combined 7 for 13 from behind the arc.

"This was an important road victory for us," remarked Head Coach Kevin Foley, "obviously our goal is to win the EPAC championship and get the #1 seed for the upcoming Region XIX tournament, but in order to do that, we need to win our remaining conference games ... and today was the first step toward that goal."  The Spartans, who improved to 11-1 in conference play, have two EPAC games remaining and are tied in the loss column with Delaware County Community College.  Northampton hosts Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday and then Bucks County Community College on Saturday February 9th.

Andrew Miller just missed out a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and Tyler Krchnavi had 10 points and 9 boards.

Northampton, which swept the season series from Harrisburg, improves to 15-7 overall.

Harrisburg falls to 4-12 overal and 3-8 in conference.
