A’ja Wilson is keeping her recruitment tight lipped, but she set down with us and discussed a few programs that are chasing after the nations top ranked girls hooper. Wilson who stands at 6’4 is a imposing presence.

Wilson has visited two local programs being from Hopkins (SC) in Clemson and South Carolina, each of those visits were unofficials. On those visits Wilson says “They were just close, and I went to check out a football game.”

The Heathwood Hall Episcopal (SC) School says being from the state doesn’t necessarily give the Tigers or Gamecocks an edge. But she would talk about South Carolina HC Dawn Staley in saying “She just got inducted into the hall of fame, which is a great accomplishment and she is a very good person she’s very humble and down to earth.”

A’ja also made her way up north to Chapel Hill last year and she seen the success the Tar Heels had on the recruiting trail last season by landing Diamond DeShields, Allisha Gray, Jessica Washington, and Stephanie Mavunga. “It was indeed a monster class.”

Another program on Wilson list is the University of Kentucky of which she says “I love the fast pace game.” When asked if there was a chance that the Wildcats could earn a visit she responded “It is a possibility.”

Wilson will be on the campus of UCONN next week for their midnight madness festivities.
