Darryl Long is one of the young men buying into Mark Stoops system at Kentucky, the Wildcats have put together a top 25 recruiting class to this point and Darryl who is a 6’5 234 lbs. TE prospect is a huge reason for Stoops and Co. success.
Long says “The excitement and energy the coaching staff is bringing is unreal. They are giving the city and state, hope and when it comes to recruits they are selling us on developing us and playing us early in the SEC.”
One thing this class has done a good job of is to recruit and reel in other players to join them, Long says “I know we are trying to get Braxton Berrios and Matt Elam.” Berrios decision is coming up and Elam is a homegrown talent so on how he feels about both Long says “I’m not sure where they will end up, but I know they enjoyed their visits and they love the fan base we have.”
On the bond this class has, Long says “We are real close, especially the Ohio boys.”
Long made his way to Kentucky this past weekend from his Ohio home to take in the Wildcats loss to Florida. Darryl says “It was really intense, but they’re getting better week by week.”
