The city of Glasgow (KY) is small, but Glasgow HS has had its turn in the spotlight with their football team finding success recently, Brandon Stockton starred at the high school before heading off to the states flagship university at the University of Kentucky, and now there is Shalika Smith who is trying to make a name for herself.
Smith’s recruitment has started off slowly to date, but she is playing with Kentucky Premier which showcases that state’s premier girls talent. Shalika is currently hearing from Western Kentucky, Georgetown College, and Eckerd College.
Shalika does know one thing she is looking for in a college as she says “I want to go to a school, with a large student body.” The talented 6’0 forward prospect says “Georgetown and Western Kentucky are recruiting me the hardest.” Western Kentucky and Georgetown’s staffs check on Shalika daily and she says “That shows me they’re interested in my talent and personality.”
“I’ve been to Western (Kentucky) so many times and I watched them play their last home game, as for Georgetown I went there to try out for the Jr. All-Star team” Smith says as for which schools she’s had the opportunity to visit.
