Thomas Nelson (KY) HS has a nice nucleus with stars like Kevin Ndahiro and A.J. Youngman one young man who sometimes gets lost in the shuffle is 6’4 205 lbs. wing Austin Willet. One thing colleges will love about Willet is the fact that he has a 4.4 GPA.
The junior who broke his ankle and tore some ligaments at the beginning of the season this past season, has heard from Georgetown (KY), Illinois Wesleyan, Dartmouth, Ball State, St. Catherine, Campbellsville, Berea, and Lindsey Wilson.
Willet was also scheduled to accompany Ndahiro and A.J. Youngman on visits to Illinois and Michigan State earlier in the year but says “The injury stopped me from going.” Willett returned from the injury midseason but says “I came back to early, and I wasn’t able to be myself until the last couple weeks of the season. So, I am working hard for next year hoping it pays off.”
This summer Willet will visit Western Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky and says “I visited St. Catherine for their Big Bash Madness.” The last schools to visit Thomas Nelson have been Western Kentucky, Michigan State, and Ball State which Austin says “I did speak with them although they came for Kevin. That is when Ball State explored the option of me walking on if they couldn’t offer me a scholarship.”
