UMASS is coming off a rough year that saw them struggle to a (1-11) record. Being new to the FBS UMASS is trying to catch-up talent wise with their MAC and other FBS counterparts. One young man that hopes to help the Minutemen with their transition is OL Jordan Page.

Page a 6’5 300 lbs. OT from Ewing (NJ)’s Pennington School  says “UMASS came in last spring and really liked me, they didn’t ask for game film or to come to camp they just really liked me as a person and my highlights.” UMASS obsession with Jordan didn’t end there as he says “My recruiter and I talked a week later and he told me he would tell the head coach to offer me.”

“So in June when I got a chance, I went up with my family for the day and we took a tour and met the whole staff, ate lunch, and they offered me at the end” Page says of how the offer came. Another selling point for Jordan was “I knew it would be a great opportunity and they weren’t recruiting me to redshirt.”

UMASS wasn’t the only school interested in Jordan as he had interest from Pitt, Rutgers, UCONN, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Boston College, Temple, Penn State, North Carolina, NC State, Elon, Purdue, Miami (FL), Iowa, Ohio State, Duke, Syracuse, Maryland, and South Carolina.

Before he arrives on the UMASS campus he says “I’ll be working on my overall strength because I can never be too strong. I’m already flexible as I can do a split fine.” Jordan isn’t coming in expecting to sit either as he says “I’m working to get mentally ready, because I’m looking to work my behind off and start.”

Jordan has already began bonding with other UMASS signees in Shane Huber, Sam Seff, Sharif Custis, Tracey Porter, Rich Queen, Steve Casalli, his good friend Daquan Mack, and Lorenzo Woodley.
