Kentucky enjoyed their 2nd win in the Kentucky-Tennessee Border Bowl and a lot of it can be attributed to the play of Wade Holtsclaw. The John Hardin HS star who was named Offensive MVP of the game.
Holtsclaw spoke about the experience in saying “It was a great overall experience being around the best coaches, and some of the best players around the state and against the best from Tennessee.” On the win for Kentucky Holtsclaw says “It was a big accomplishment for us to win this year for only the 2nd time, it shows that the state of Kentucky hasn’t fell off the map and it’s starting to get back on track.”
As for how the game helped him in recruiting circles Wade says “The Border Bowl helped me get more exposed to more colleges around the state and from other states. It also helped that it was on TV so it could be watched nationally.”
The 5’10 195 lbs. RB said he made a connection with DT Jacob Hyde from Clay Co. HS who is committed to Kentucky. Hyde was part of the OL group that Holtsclaw spoke highly of in saying “I was impressed with the offensive lines and they way they fired off the line, Coach Prince did a great job working with them all week. They was definitely the biggest factor in the game.”
With his decision coming soon, Wade has already visited Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown, and Morehead State. “I’m hoping to take a visit to Western Kentucky, but all the visits I have taken went very well.”
