Sports Xpress Hoops Tour: Kentucky Bank Shootout

A night after beating Lexington Christian many expected Bourbon Co.’s game with Augusta to be a 10^th region battle. There was only one problem, Augusta brought the fight to the Colonels but the Colonels didn’t respond.

How do you follow up a 5 OT game? Ask Brent Bach, the Augusta standout poured in 41 points on 15/30 shooting. Bach also had 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 4 steals as Augusta beat the host Colonels 82-60.

Chris Gillispie isn’t back yet, but you can see each time out he gains a little more confidence and eventually his shots are going to start falling. Gillispie’s sidekick Charles “Snoop” Johnson has done a pretty good job wearing the Superman cape for the Colonels while Chris gets back into the game.

This was a disappointing loss for the Colonels, but Snoop Johnson continued to be a bright spot as he scored 20 points to go a long with 5 rebounds, and 5 steals in 25 minutes of action.

The Colonels fell to (2-2), Augusta improves to (3-1).

Gotta give love to Augusta’s Tanner Kelsch who with the game well in hand, fouled a Bourbon Co. guy so one of his team mates who doesn’t see a lot of minutes could get into the game.
