Isaiah Johnson is a JUCO to keep an eye on as signing day approaches. The 6’1 210 lbs. safety from Iowa Western CC says “I wouldn’t mind playing with Pierre CC DT Marquel Combs who is the 2nd best JUCO in the country, we’re cool and always talk about where we want to play.” Johnson’s list currently stands at “Kansas, Wyoming, and Northern Iowa” as schools that have offered and “Arizona State, UCLA, Illinois, Purdue, and New Mexico” as schools showing interest. Isaiah says “Arizona State, UCLA, Illinois, Purdue, and New Mexico are all really interested and should offer soon.” One school does have the lead in the race for Johnson’s services as the safety tells us “Right now Kansas is my #1 choice.” “Kansas stands out because they have great coaches and have a great environment that I would love to be a part of” Johnson added on the Jayhawks. The Jayhawks are joined by the Cowboys of Wyoming as far as schools recruiting the rangy safety originally from Council Bluffs (IA). Isaiah will visit the Jayhawks next weekend (Dec. 7th) for a official visit. The talented JUCO star also said that Kansas, Arizona State, and Illinois have visited him recently and that New Mexico is slated to be at Iowa Western this Thursday.
