Christian Benzon is originally from Denmark, but has been in the U.S. for a year and a half now and has seen his stock soar. The 6’4 195 lbs. wing out of Gainesville (FL)’s The Rock School played this summer with the D12 Warriors.

Since we last spoke with Christian he says he’s added interest from “Rider, Northeastern, and Winthrop” to his already large list of “Jacksonville, Harvard, Auburn, Central Florida, Virginia Commonwealth, Murray State, Fairfield, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee State, Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic, South Alabama, Liberty, James Madison, and Florida Gulf Coast.”

The Denmark native says you can add South Alabama to the list of Murray State, Harvard, Central Florida, Virginia Commonwealth, Auburn and Jacksonville as teams standing out. Benzon also says “South Alabama is recruiting me the hardest at the moment.”

Being in Billy Donovan and the University of Florida’s backyard the Gators have yet to take notice, but Christian says “They have been over to a bunch of practices but I don’t think I’m what they’re looking for.”

The talented wing says “I couldn’t attend any midnight madness festivities because my eligibility at the clearing house was still being evaluated.”

Despite not being able to take in any Midnight Madness festivities Christian did get the opportunity to visit South Alabama of which he says “Their campus caught me by surprise, I really liked it.”

With Christian speaking so highly of South Alabama he did get to take in the Jaguars big win over Florida State who was ranked at the time. Christian says of the win “I was excited about it, I felt really happy for the coaches because I know they are doing a great job.”
