JV Travels to Boone County
August 27, 2014Bishop Brossart High School
The Mustangs traveled to Boone County, on Tuesday, to play a triple header against the Rebels. Freshmen took the field first winning 6-0! With increasing humidity, the JV were next. The early minutes were a battle around midfield for who would take control. T.J. Moore took the first shot missing just wide. The Mustangs seemed content to pass the ball without movement, staying out of striking distance. The ball made its way to Rebel control and Justin Schultz came up with a great defensive block saving a goal mid-way through the half. Sam Hildreth had a nice chip cross to T.J. Moore for another Mustang shot. The Mustangs finally found formation and began to connect passes, pressure the ball and take shots. A throw in from Justin Rolf set up an assist from Jake Sendelbach to Cody Chism to put the Mustangs up 1-0. A lead they would take into the half.
The second half brought a down pour of rain and a statistician with wet paper! Cody Chism scored a second goal and Goal Keeper Austin Zalac put up two great saves to preserve the shut out 2-0.
Varsity never took to the field due to multiple lightning strikes.
