Assistant Coach Austin Frey to Compete at Bellarmine Invitational

April 3, 2014
By Chris Davis of Bishop Brossart High School

Austin Frey was the 2013 Pole Vault regional champion, clearing the height of 11 feet. He was part of an impressive senior class of Alex Schwartz and Jacob Hartig who gained an astounding 50 points in last year's regional meet.

After last year the love of pole vault has not left Frey, and he has been instrumental in helping Frank the Tank Cetrulo and Nate See clear 8'6 in their first ever varsity competition. Frey brings a knowledge and passion to an event that a lot of other schools do not bother competing in. When it comes to later in the year his influence will hopefully be instrumental in getting the Mustangs back on top of the Northern Kentucky Regional meet.

Austin will compete in his first ever collegiate track meet at Bellarmine Invitational this Saturday. If his practices have been any indication, Frey will set a new personal record and hold his own against quality collegiate competition. The coaches and team wish Austin good luck, he will be competing under the Mustang Track Club.
