Lady 'Stangs 11, Holmes 2

The Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart have been putting up some solid offensive totals in their last 7 games in wins over Calvary Christian 19-1, Holy Cross 11-1, St. Henry 10-4, Mason County 9-3, Grant County 14-0, Silver Grove 22-0 and today an 11-2 decision over Holmes at Alexandria City Park. That is 96 Runs Scored 11 allowed. Their one loss in the last 8 games was in the Championship of the Pete Noll Tournament 6-2 to Boone County.
Today Brossart started a bit slowly falling behind 1-0 but getting out of a bases loaded jam. In the second Sophomore Firstbaseman Katlyn Seiter jumped on a 3-2 pitch and drilled it to rightcenter for a three run home run to make it 3-1 'Stangs. In the third they took a 9-1 advantage with a six run outburst. The big hit another three run home run this time by Senior Shannon Kremer to left.
Junior Karlie Shackelford and Senior Jaimie Reis each had two hits. Sophomore Amanda Graus had three stolen bases and tied the school record for being hit by a pitch in a season getting hit for the 5th time.
Shackelford won her 8th game scattering 2 hits and recording a season high 8 strikeouts.
Brossart is 8-4 and hosts Louisville Presentation Wednesday. Holmes falls to 5-5 on the year.
The junior varsity beat Holmes 5-0 led by Elizabeth Martin's 2 hits and four rbis.
