Mustangs cage Cougars will face Scott for 37th District Championship.

The Mustangs win 5-0 tonight and improved their record to 15-4 on the season. Bishop Brossart will defend their 37th District Championship on Thursday night at Campbell County High School. The Mustangs beat Scott last year 3-2 in the final. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and will be live on bmustangs.com. The Brossart Girls will play at 5:30pm for the girls championship.
The Mustangs dominated the Cougars for the second time this season. In the first minute Dylan Geiman found Jacob Jennings for the game winning goal and Dylan picked up the game winning assist. The Mustangs got the State Farm Insurance Goal of the game in the 24th frame when Dutch Graus sent the ball past the keeper for the 2-nil lead. It was then Miller Time in the 38th minute when Drew Miller got a great ball from Eli Nienaber and sent a blast past the keeper for the 3-0 lead, which the Mustangs took to the half.
The Mustangs ended any hope of a comeback by the Cougars when Eli Nienaber blasted one left footed for the 4-0 lead in the 48th minute of the game. Dutch, a Senior picked up his second goal of the game and finished off the scoring in the 64th minute when he got a nice ball from Nick Dierig to end Calvary Christian’s 2013 soccer season.
The defense played great and Andrew Erickson and Jeffery Paulin picked up another shut out on the season (number 9) as the Cougars only had 1 shot on goal and 1 shot the entire night. The Mustangs had 42 shots and 15 on goal. The Mustangs had 12 corner kicks to only two for the Cougars.
