JV Boys Beat Covington Catholic head to Finals

The Bishop Brossart JV Team will be playing at Town and Country for the JV Regional tonight at 8:00pm. Come out to support your Mustangs. The JV Team won the Semifinal Match in Penalty Kicks 5-4 to play the winner of Ryle vs Scott.
The Mustangs and Cov Cath game ended in a 0-0 tie and went to the dreaded penalty kicks. Both teams played even the entire game with many chances and many good saves on both sides.
Covington Catholic shot first and the Mustangs keeper Austin Zalac guessed correct and got his fingers on the ball , but the ball just got past him to make the score 1-0. Up first for the Mustangs was Chase Hauke who sent the ball into the net as the keeper guessed wrong. Covington Catholic shot their next shot high and wide so the score was tied at 1-1. Up next for the Mustangs was Gabe Roberts who sent the ball into the net as the Cov Cath's keeper guessed wrong again and the score was 2-1. Covington Catholic scored to make the score 2-2. Sam Parnell was up next for the Mustangs and sent a blast into the net, side netting and the keeper guessed wrong for the 3-2 lead with both teams having only 2 chances left. Covington Catholic scored on their next shot to tie it up again at 3-3. Jacob Frommeyer was up next and Cov Cath's keeper guessed correct, but Jacob's shot was was on frame and side net for the 4-3 lead. With the pressure on the Colonels to score our go home their shot hit the side net for the 4-4 tie with only Matt Smith left. The pressure was on Smith, if he hits the shot the Mustangs are in the Championship Game and if he doesn't it is onto more penalty kicks. Smith set the ball down and sent a no doubter into the net and the fans and players went wild as the Mustangs defeat Covington Catholic for the second year in a row to end their season.
