Mustangs beat Paris in ALL A Soccer Classic

The Mustangs took care of business in the first round of the All A as they got a touchdown to win 7-0 and move on to play Calvary Christian next Saturday at 2:00pm. The game will be played at Holy Cross’ Eva G. Farris Field. The Mustangs improve their record to 6-1 on the season. Paris falls to 4-3.
The Mustangs scored early as Jake Jennings gets the game winning goal in the 4th minute of the game. The Mustangs got the Hartford Insurance Goal of the game from Sophomore Sam Parnell. Sam’s big brother and Senior Mitch picked up the assist on a nice ball to his brother for the 2-0 lead. In the 30th frame Senior Jake Jennings picked up his 2nd goal of the game from 8 yards out that found the back of the net for the 3-0 lead and the route was on. Nick Dierig finished out the scoring in the first period when in the 35th frame he would get one past the keeper for the 4-nil lead.
The Mustangs came out strong in the second period. In the 44th minute Eli Nienaber got his first assist when he sent a ball to Jon Hen who sent the ball into the back of the net for the 5-0 lead. Drew Berkemeyer got his goal when Eli Nienaber sent a ball that Drew sent between the posts for the 6-0 lead. The Mustangs extra point came in the 62nd minute of the game when Nick Dierig blasted the ball between the posts for the final score of 7-0.
The Mustangs had 20 shots to only 2 for Paris. The defense played excellent and they allowed nothing by Paris. They only had 1 shot on goal. Andrew Erickson and Jeff Paulin combined for the shutout.
