In the second half the Mustangs got some quality play off the bench as three starters picked up at least 4 fouls. They opened up a sizable lead at 57-43 but Augusta kept battling back answering Saunders, Trentman and Burns inside attack with long range bombs by Bach. They closed the Mustang advantage to just four points at 64-60 with 2:04 remaining. However the 'Stangs were up to the task scoring the next 6 to make it 70-60 and making some clutch free throws down the stretch.
