The 8th grade “A” team  tamed the Tigers from Katy 80-24 last night. The Mavs jumped out to a big lead early and never looked back. Leading the charge on offense was CJ Washington with 21 points 8 rebounds and 2 blocks and Shawn and Edmond Thomas with 18 points each! The defense was suffocating and was led by Jamal  Bienemy and Alan Estupian! The team remains undefeated and improves to 11-0 for the season and look to defeat the Panthers from McDonald next week.

The 8th Grade Boys Gold Basketball Team defeated Katy JH by a final score of 47-20 at Morton Ranch.  The Mavericks pulled away by the end of the 2nd quarter and never looked back.  Co-Players of the Game were Kamaru Dorsey with 16 points and Alec To with 8 points.  Other high scorers in the game were Brian Smith with 8 points, Jerimiah Green with 4 points, and Mario Vasquez and Elliz Lalic with 3 points each.

The 8th Grade Boys Gold "B and Purple "A" Basketball Teams capped off division play undefeated locking up sole possession of first place in the district.  With that, teams earned the #1 seed in the Katy ISD Post-Season Championship Tournament.  The Mavericks will finish up the regular season next Monday Feb. 10th as they take on McDonald JH in the annual rivalry game at Morton Ranch High School.  Come out and support your Mavs to victory!  

The 8th grade Boys Basketball C team beat Katy JH 46-12.  The players of the game were Casey Simmons, Cortland Edwards and Adrian DeJesus with 9, 7 and 6 points for the night.  Everybody on the team had good scoring opportunities and played aggressive team defense.  The Mavericks finish division play with a record of 5-1 and will enter the district tournament as the #2 seed.  Congratulations to all the 8th grade Maverick teams.
