Girls Basketball Update

On the Road to the Playoffs
The 7th and 8th grade Lady Mavericks basketball teams have been working hard in practice to improve their skills and compete with the other teams in their division. Put in a division this year with most of Katy ISD's historically strong girls' basketball teams, the Mavericks' A, B, and C teams have fought, struggled, and even had some wins.
Their division consists of six other Katy ISD teams: Beckendorff JH, Beck JH, Seven Lakes JH, Cinco Ranch JH, Woodcreek JH, and Katy JH.
The 7C team has a 1-3 record for regular season, the 7B team has a record of 0-4, but a 1-2 record for the B-team tournament played just last week, and the 7A team has a 1-3 record with a 2-1 record from their A-team tournament from back in December.
The 7th grade girls have been hustling and competing with their opponents.
The 8th grade veterans have had a bit more of a struggle against the more experienced teams in the division. 7A and 7B have a record of 0-4 for the regular season. The 7A team did have a win in the KISD A-team tournament in December, giving them a 1-2 record for the tournament. The 7B, also boasts a 1-2 record for the B-team tournament, losing by only 1-point in their B-team tournament to Beck JH.
The 8th grade girls are continuing to improve, and learn of the expectations for them at this time and in preparation for high school, if any of them choose to continue.
Stay tuned for more game news, pictures, and updates! Support the Lady Mavericks in their next home game at MRJH this Wednesday and Thursday (1/22 and 1/23), as they compete against the Woodcreek Wolves.
