Home » General News7 Grade A Team Football wins DistrictNovember 14, 2012 Morton Ranch Junior High SchoolThe Seventh grade “A” team started the season with one goal in mind and it was to win the District Championship. Last night the Mavs got what they wanted and then some with a convincing 26-6 win over the Cinco Ranch Coyotes at Rhodes Stadium. The season was long on the guys and they knew they had to bring their best to beat a team that had defeated them earlier in the season. The Mavs had a plan and would not be denied this time around against the Coyotes.
The offense came out strong and moved the ball early on the Coyotes. Andrew Dominguez got things rolling with some tough running and long yards to set up the first touchdown. The offensive line did an awesome job in the trenches opening up holes for the running backs to get yards all night. Leading the charge in the trenches were Deandre Fransaw, Jacobe Littlejohn, Jonathan Stillwell, Jerimiah Green, Logan Brown and Seth Brochstein. They were able to block for Ladarius Rasberry to get into the end zone twice on a 35 and 45 yard run. Dominguez added another touchdown run to put the Coyotes deeper in a hole. Shawn Thomas did an excellent job controlling the offense and made several big plays to keep the offense going.
The Defense played with a purpose and beat up on the Coyotes from the first play of the game. The hits were hard and many as Cinco Ranch could not move the ball and only managed three first down all night. Leading the charge on Defense was Caleb Shepherd, Casey Simmons, Alan Estupinan, Brian Smith, Matt Villanueva, Jarell Abraham and Brian Ormond. Cameron Scott finished off the Coyotes with a 45 yard interception return for a touchdown to seal the deal for the Mavs. The Defense would not be denied and played its best game off the year. The Mavs finish the season with a 7-1 record and District best 227 points scored on offense! Congrats to the Mavs for working hard in the classroom and just as hard on the field. WAY TO GO MAVS!!!!!!
