MONDAY (3/12) -- REMAINING UNIFORMS DISTRIBUTED
We will distribute the remaining uniforms tomorrow at practice. If your son has not yet received his uniform, please remember to either send a deposit check with him tomorrow or arrange to be at practice. The check should be made out to Morton Lacrosse Club, Inc. for $90. Again, this is a deposit check. It will not be cashed unless the full uniform is not returned within one week after the first practice.
TUESDAY (3/13)-- FIRST GAME v. SAYRE; Players should wear Grey T-shirt (distributed with uniforms) to School.
Our first game will be Tuesday (3/13). Players should wear the Grey Morton Lacrosse T-Shirt to school. This was distributed with the uniforms. Players should arrive at the Sayre Athletic Fields as soon after school as possible. They should wear their Green Shorts and Green Jersey. But, always bring both jerseys to games in case we have to make a change.
The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. Note that Sayre charges an admission fee for spectators (not players) so have some cash available. In past years, the fee has been $3.00 per person. Also, there are no bleachers, so bring chairs. The Sayre Fields are located off Richmond Road, past Jacobson.
Here are directions:
Practice and game fields as well as tennis courts are located at the Sayre Athletic Fields. From downtown Lexington take Main Street east out of town, go straight at the Jacobson Park stop light (don't bear right onto Old Richmond Road), go all the way to (and beyond) the 104 interchange of I-75 (the Athens-Lexington interchange), then after passing over I-75 turn left between Days Inn and Red Roof Inn onto Canebrake Drive. Go all the way down the hill where you will see a tobacco barn on your right – proceed .1 mile further and on your right is the entrance to the Sayre Athletic Fields. Park in one of the lots and walk past the tennis courts up the hill to the ball diamonds and main soccer/lacrosse field. Three additional soccer/lacrosse fields are located at the end of the parking lots, to your right.
