Home » Football NewsVikings still winless: lead the Andrew Luck sweepstakesOctober 2, 2011 By Wally Langfellow of Minnesota ScoreJust face it...the 2011 Minnesota Vikings are not a very good football team. As a matter of fact, the way things stand right now, they are the worst team in the NFL. Seems fitting for Minnesota...worst team in baseball in the American League, worst team in the NBA and now the worst team in the NFL. Yes, they have had four close calls, but who cares? They have lost them all. 0 and 4 after Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Chiefs in KC. There's no way to sugar coat it. It's been the contention here all along that they stick with Donavon McNabb as long as they can. He hasn't been the problem. Unfortunately though, he's not the answer either. It is now time for the Vikings to cash in their chips, walk away from the 2011 table and go with the rookie Christian Ponder. Let him take his lumps (and there will be plenty of those with a porous offensive line). All the problems that it seemed like the Vikings would have to overcome have risen to the top. Mediocre offensive line, bad down-field receiving corps, old quarterback, poor coaching staff. It adds up to 4 losses in 4 games. For Viking fans, if you can just turn away and not look for 12 more games and the Vikes can continue down this path, Andrew Luck (Stanford All American QB) will be the new Vikings QB next year. We can only hope.
