Junior Jason Richman was dominating on the mound as he threw every pitch of the shortened five inning (run rule) game and held a good hitting Redan team to one run while striking out 11 along the way. Offensively Milton continued to show a lineup that can score in many different ways and put a lot of pressure on their opponents with speed and aggressive base running. Senior third baseman Chris Aichinger had his best performance of 2011 as he hammered a double and two singles while also making stellar plays in the field. First Baseman Scott Gillespie had his fifth consecutive game with an extra base hit as he slammed a triple off the wall in right center in the first inning to help the Eagles take the lead for good. Freshman Ryan Gridley added a double for the home team while Scott Slappey chipped in with a single. Milton is now 5-1 and will play two away games next week (Pope/Norcross) and will not return home until Tuesday March 15 when they host Woodstock.
