The JH Lady Vikes defeated Appleton City to advance to the consolation trophy game on Thursday. The JH Vikings defeated Archie to advance to Thursday's championship game. Midway led Appleton City 11-4 at the end of the first quarter. The score was JH Lady Vikings 17 and JH Lady Bulldogs 8 at the half. Midway led Appleton City 27-12 at the end of the third quarter. The final score was JH Lady Vikes 36 and JH Lady Bulldogs 16. Laine Mills had a team high 8 points for the JH Lady Vikes. Mady Berkenpas scored 7 points. Jodi Rhodes netted 6 points, and Raelynn Goddard tallied 5 points. Emily Aksamit and Baylea Jones each scored 4 points. Miranda Dahman added 2 points. The JH Vikes led the JH Whirlwinds 17-12 at the end of the first quarter. Midway led Archie 29-19 at halftime. The JH Vikings were in front of the JH Whirlwinds 37-29 at the end of three quarters of play. The final score was Midway 46 and Archie 35. Peyton Semsch had a team leading 12 points for the JH Vikings. Mason Irvin tossed in 10 points. Bobby Zielinski and Nick Sparks scored 8 points apiece. Anthony Hawkins scored 6 points, and Brice Renner chipped in 2 points. Midway's junior high teams will wrap up the 2009 basketball season when they travel to Archie to conclude the WEMO Tournament on Thursday. The JH Lady Vikes will face Adrian in the girls' consolation game at 5:45 PM on Thursday, December 17. The JH Vikes will battle Osceola for the boys' championship trophy at 8:15 PM on Thursday, December 17.
