JH LADY VIKES WIN WEMO TOURNEY

Cass Midway's junior high volleyball Lady Vikings won the 2009 Western Missouri Conference Tournament on Saturday, October 10 at Appleton City.

The JH Lady Vikes defeated Adrian 25-22 and 25-19 to open the tournament. Baylea Jones served 4 aces against Adrian

Midway defeated Osceola 25-23 and 25-19 in the championship semifinals. Jessica Owens and Baylea Jones each served 4 aces for the JH Lady Vikes.

In the championship match, the JH Lady Vikes defeated Archie 25-18 and 25-22. Jessica Owens served 3 aces and Baylea Jones served 2 aces.

Members of the JH Lady Vikings' squad for 2009 are Raelynn Goddard, Dee Stark, Keillah Dillon, Mackenzie Scholl, Allie Geivett, Baylea Jones, Kasey Roberson, Courtney Irvin, Mady Berkenpas, Mariah Keeney, Laura Casaert, Hannah Eberle, Megan O' Brien, Rachel Eason, Jodi Rhodes, Caroline Hupp, Miranda Dahman, Laine Mills, Jessica Owens, Emily Rockley, Cali Conner, Aubrey Beasley,  Johanna Hawkins, Krosbie Smith, and Emily Aksamit.

Mary Cromer is the head coach, and Amy Dahman is the assistant coach.

The JH Lady Vikings play at home against Appleton City on October 13. The 2009 season for Midway's junior high ends with a road trip to Rich Hill on October 15.
