Home » Cross Country NewsMACKENZIE WEIS TO BE A LADY BEARFebruary 2, 2012 Cass Midway High SchoolMidway senior distance standout Mackenzie Weis signed a national letter of intent with NCAA Division I Missouri State on National Signing Day, February 1. She will compete for the Lady Bears in both cross country and track & field.
Mackenzie is a two time state champion in cross country. She also holds the MSHSAA Class 1 state course record. Mackenzie was a four time district champion in cross country. She ran a perfect, undefeated cross country season in 2010.
On the track, Mackenzie is a two-time state champion in the 3200 meter run. She holds the MSHSAA Class 1 state record in the 3200 meter run. She was the state runner-up in the 1600 meter run in 2011. Mackenzie also ran a leg on the Lady Viking’s state runner-up 4x800 meter relay team last May.
