Knights defeat South Georgia in 14

The Middle Georgia State Knights outlasted South Georgia in 14 innings, Tuesday night. The Knights were down 4-0 after the 1st inning before fighting back with one run each in the 3rd and 4th and plating a pair in the 6th to tie the game up.  The score remained the same with neither team able to do much until the 14th inning.  The top of the 14th saw Cody Lanford draw a walk and Blake Shouse single to right-center to  advance Lanford to 3rd. Andrew Kelley singled to left, scoring Lanford to for the go ahead run.  The Knights were not done as Cole Thompson’s single to right scored  Shouse and drove in one more with an infield single off the bat of Kent Rollins scoring Andrew Kelley.  South Georgia managed one run in the bottom of the 14th off reliever Conner Alford, before he retired the next three batters to pick up the save for the Knights. Ryan Lawlor threw 2 scoreless innings for the win.  The Knights are back in action Thursday night @ 7 versus South Georgia College at Stuckey Field and will be broadcast live at www.ihigh.com/mgsknights.
