Knights drop double header at Gordon State

Game 1

The Knights of Middle Georgia State College traveled to Gordon State for a Saturday Double Header.  Gordon scored five in the first inning while Middle Georgia State put one run up in the first and three runs in the second. The Knights offensively were led by Blake Shouse, Trae Wilson and Adam Eggnatz who each had a hit and drove in a run. Cody Lanford and Kent Rollins each had a hit and scored a run. Connor Alford started the game and was relieved by Tyler Graham, who went going 5 2/3 innings holding the Highlanders to five runs. The final score was 5-4 which wrapped up game 3 of the series. 

Game 2

The Knights were chasing again in game 2 of the double header when the Highlanders scored one in the first and three in the 3rd. The Knights would score in the fifth when Adam Eggnatz hit a solo homerun to left field. Cody Lanford, Blake Shouse, and Trae Wilson each had a hit in Game 2. The Knights starting pitcher was Eric Alonzo, who went 3 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs. Caleb Weaver pitched in relief allowing no runs over 2 1/3 innings. The Highlanders took the final game of the series winning 4-1.

Middle Georgia State College Knights are back in conference action Tuesday (3-19-13) @ South Georgia. The Knights return home on Thursday (3-21-13 ) versus South Georgia for Game 2 of the Series.  Check www.ihigh.com/mgsknights for live broadcasts and updates.
