Knight Women fall to GPC

February 11, 2013
By James Hagler, Jr of MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE COLLEGE

Cochran, GA

The Knights Women's basketball team fell to the Georgia Perimeter Jaguars 56-41 tonight.  The team came out missing shots while GPC continued to hit shots early in the game.  Falling behind by 9 early, the Knights tried to play an up tempo game along with GPC which resulted in a large number of turnovers.  After making a run at the end of the first half, a buzzer beater by Stafford of the Jaguars had the Knights down by 8 at the half.  Coming out in the second half, the Jaguars scored 5 points in the first minute to extend the lead to 13.  The Knights made a push late in the game to cut the lead to four before they fell upon another shooting slump and the Jaguars closed the game out extending the lead to 15.

The Knights were led by Shanedra Locket with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  J'Una Rollins added 8 points, all from the free throw line, and 13 rebounds for the Knights.  The Knights next game is Wendesday the 13th at 5:30 PM in Cochran against Chattahoochee Tech.  You can watch the game live at www.ihigh.com/school26741 and click on the game link.
