Home » Football NewsHB 300 Signed By Governor on July 13July 14, 2011 Missouri Football Coaches AssociationHB 300, known as "Interscholastic Youth Sports Brain Injury Prevention Act" was signed yesterday by Governor Jay Nixon. Of primary importance to coaches regarding this legislation: If an athlete is SUSPECTED of having a head injury he is to be removed from practice or compeition immediately. If your school does not currently have a plan in place for recognising and assessing potential head injuries we encourage you to consider employing principles established in the Zurich Statement and through the SCAT2 tools. The MFCA has these items available for your use. It is advised for coaches to share this information with your athletic directors and principals.
