Following Points and AFCA Benefits

You have all undoubtedly discovered how to follow the new MSHSAA District seeding points on the MSHSAA website. For those of you who have not OR if there are others in your community who would like to follow the points such as media outlets and parents, below are the steps you need to follow:

1) www.mshsaa.org

2) Click SCHOOLS tab

3) Type the name of the school you are investigating

4) Click on 11-Man Football: Varsity

5) At the bottom of the schedule you will see a link: SHOW DISTRICT STANDINGS

As a reminder to coaches who have taken advantage of the early bird MFCA membershp the past two-years which has garnered complimentary AFCA membership. We will unfortunaltely not be providing that benefit into 2013. 

In 2009 The Board of Directors determined that the MFCA had a surplus of savings that needed to be spent back towards our members. The AFCA benefit was granted as the board recognises the AFCA as a tremendous resource for all coaches. However, now with over 70 coaches each year receiving this benefit the MFCA is no longer able to claim their substantial surplus. It was hoped that in the first half of 2012 we would be able to find a new funding resource to continue this benefit but that has not happened. We hope that coaches recognise the AFCA as a worthy organization for them to continue to join on their own.
