PARRISH & JORDAN MAKE MISSOURI DISTRICT 6 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
March 15, 2014By Adam Falloon of Montgomery County High School
Montgomery County R-2 Seniors Cameron Parrish and Jerad Jordan were elected to the Missouri Class 3 District 6 All-Tournament Team. They were elected to this team by the vote of the coaches of the 7 other teams that played in the District Tournament.
The Wildcats won the District 6 Tournament the week of February 24-March 1. This was the first time that a Wildcats team had won a District Championship and advanced to the State Playoffs since the 1975-76 season.
Cameron had his best series of games ever at Montgomery County R-2 in the 3 games of the District Tournament. He scored a total of 76 points in those games, which was a 25.3 points per game average. His highest total was 38 points, which he scored in the Semifinal Game against Winfield. The Wildcats had to come from behind in the last 2 minutes of the overtime period to win that game 79-75.
He also had a total of 43 rebounds (14.3 per game average), 12 assists (4 per game average), and 5 steals in the tournament. He made 25 of 38 2-point shots (66%), 6 of 17 3-point shots (35%), and 8 of 10 free throws (80%) in the tournament.
Jerad also had a solid tournament. He scored a total of 34 points in the 3 games, which was an 11.3 points per game average. He also had a total of 18 assists (6 per game), and 6 steals (2 per game). In addition, he made 11 of 13 free throws (85%) and 5 of 14 3-point shots (36%).
“Congratulations” to Cameron and Jerad on a “job well done” in the tournament, and for receiving this recognition for your efforts!
