Local Cable TV Station has new look

Marshalltown Educational Television (METV) has a brand new look which includes a new name and a new logo.  The local station is now called Marshalltown Community Television (McTV).

Station Manager, Steve Muntz says that the station needed a new look and image. "Since we have changed channel numbers over the last few years because of Mediacom going to a digital system, we needed to have a new identity that was not tied to a channel number."

Muntz also mentioned that the old name METV didn't exactly roll off the tongue.  The new name McTV is more catchy and easier for people to remember.  Along with the name the channel has a new logo.  "The marketing department at IVCCD was able to help design a new logo for us which we are quite happy with," Muntz stated.

McTV airs local programming that is of interest to people in the Marshallown area.  Programs include, weekly city council meetings, Board of Supervisor meetings, school board meetings and many other programs about the Marshalltown area.

Other programs include Discover Marshalltown, Bobcat News Network, Marshalltown History and many other local programs.
