MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Marshalltown Community College baseball team split on the final day of the Ripken Experience Tournament on Tuesday and will come home with a 3-4 record.
The Tigers lost to Danville Area Community College 4-1 in its first game of the day and followed with a 4-3 victory over Lansing Community College.
Bryce Manning threw all seven innings for MCC against Lansing and ran his season record to 2-0. Manning allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out 10.

Lansing used three singles in the bottom of the first to tally its lone run against Manning.
The Tigers put up three in the fourth with Jordan McCoy having an RBI triple and Kyle Simpson and Andrew Utterback following with RBI singles.
Manning struck out the side in the seventh and the game ended with Lansing having the tying run at second base.
Jake Allen went 3-for-3 with a run scored and stolen base for MCC.
Marshalltown was only outhit by Danville Area, 6-4, but could not get out of trouble in the fifth. The Jaguars scored three runs on four hits and one MCC error to take a 4-0 advantage.
The Tigers' lone run came in the sixth as Utterback doubled in Manning.
Justen Folger had a pair of hits for Marshalltown, while McCoy drew a pair of walks.
Starting pitcher Blake Brommel took the loss, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. Nick Weeter threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
The Tigers have their home opener March 17 against Ellsworth, starting at 1 p.m. at Shawn Williams Field.
