Former MCC Tiger player to take on the UNI Panthers

Coming off a career-high scoring performance, Tyler Brown leads Illinois State into a Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball matchup Saturday at Northern Iowa.

Brown had plenty of stellar performances in his two years at Marshalltown Community College as he earned All-American honors. He is doing more of the same for the Redbirds.

OTHER MCC TIGERS AT FOUR-YEAR SCHOOLS

- Javier Valdez, Ashford, team-high 12.9 points per game, had a career-high 30 points on Jan. 28 against Waldorf

- Vesteinn Sveinsson, Ashford, 4.3 ppg, started 10 games

- Michael Appel, Southwest Minnesota State, 2.3 ppg

- Will Clyburn, Iowa State, redshirting

- Luiz Santos, Slippery Rock, 6.3 ppg and 7.1 rpg

- Henrique Medeiros, Columbia College, 9 ppg and 3.6 apg., Cougars are No. 21 in NAIA Division I national rankings

 

Douglas Kurtz - Graduated from University of Hawaii last summer and is playing professionally in Brazil right now.

 

Marquis Navarre - Graduated from Montana State last May and is back in San Diego trying to get into being an agent for Professional Players

 

Chris Caird - is back in Iceland right now and is recovering well, last I talked to him he should be running in a month or so after his knee injury this summer.  The plan is to head to Santa Clara in July.
