Boys Track at County 5/8/14

The Boys Varsity Track team dominated the Randolph County Championship last night by wining 6 events and scoring in  all but one event.  The Bears racked up 120 points in wining their second consecutive Randolph County Championship.  It was a total team win as nearly all Bears had personal best throws, jumps and times.

 
Champions for the Bears were:
 
-the 4 X 800 Relay team of Evan Roberts, Dezmen Armour, Justin Brown and Chase Bly ran away with the event by doing a season best 9:10.
 
-Sophomore Joshua Randal dominated both the 110 High Hurdles and the 300 hurdles in continuing his County dominance in those events.
 
-the 4 X 100 Relay team of Isaac Smithson, R.J. Sears, Dezmen Armour, and Joshua Randal had the closest challenge in their championship as Joshua Randal ran down Winchester to win.
 
-Junior Marcus Drummer won the 400 in convincing fashion with a time of 52.32.
 
-Junior Justin Brown won the 800 with a season best 2:13.  Justin continues to run faster every time he gets on the track.
 
-Senior Chase Bly waited out a "cat and mouse" strategy in the 3200 by wining the race in 11:05.
 
-the 4 X 400 Relay team of R.J. Sears, Joshua Randal, Chase Bly and Marcus Drummer completed the evening by wining the relay by 7 seconds!
 
Other Notable County efforts:

-Senior Brandon Burton placed second by throwing  the shot to a season best 41'8."
 
-Junior Marcus Drummer placed second in both the 100 and 200 dashes.
 
-Junior R.J. Sears placed 4rth in the 200 and second in the 400 with a season best 53.87.
 
-Junior Jordan Grant placed second in the Long Jump with a season best leap of 17' 04."
 
-Junior Frederick Wilson placed 4rth in the 1600 and third in the 3200.

-Junior Rhett Snyder placed fourth in the 800 with a season best 2:22.
