MC Baseball Invite 5/3/14

The Bears Baseball team finished 2nd in the MC invitational Saturday by defeating Knightstown in the opener by a score of 6 to 0, only to fall short for the 2nd year in a row to Shannondoah in the finals by a score of 2 to 1. Jesse Reum pitched 6 solid inning for the win with 8 strike outs and giving up only 4 hits, only to give way to Bryce Duncan to finish the game in the 7th for the save throwing only 6 pitches to end the game. In the second game Jake Combs pitched a complete game only giving up 1 earned run. Unfortunately the team couldn’t find any holes to generate some runs with only six hits. On the day Beau Combs finished 3 of 6, Jake Combs 2 for 6  with 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 run. Kaiser Phillips went 1 for 6 with 2 runs, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base. Bracken Barga went 2 for 5 with 1 sacrifice fly, 1 double and 1 RBI. Jordan Bowmer went 1 for 5 with 2 RBI’s and scoring 1 run. Cole Woolf went 1 for 6 and Cody Woolf scored 3 runs and had 1 stolen base. Bears are back in action again Tuesday with Libery Christian at home.
