Varsity Track vs Cowan & Wapahani 4/24/14

The Boys Varsity track team lost to Wapahani in a tough back to back track meet held last night at Wapahani by a 73 to 70 score.  Cowan was third with 13 points. The Bears won 5 events and tied in another and were gallant in facing adversity.

 
Despite a sore hip, Sophomore Josh Randall won three events in the 110 Hurdles, 300 hurdles and anchored the wining 4 X 100 relay.  Senior Dezmen Armour won the high jump and had a team best split in the season best 4 X 800 relay which finished second.  Junior Devonte' Armour tied for first in the Long Jump with a season best 18' 10" leap and had the pleasure of anchoring the 4 X 400 relay team.  Junior Marcus Drummer won the 400 in a season best 53.2 and was second in the 100 with a 11.23 time.  Senior Brandon Burton won the Shot Put with a heave of 38' 6.5".  The 4 X 100 relay team of Issac Smithson, RJ Sears, Devonte' Armour and Josh Randall won with a season best 48.0.  Other season best times were turned in by Junior Frederick Wilson's 3200 and Junior Christian Bradley's Shot Put of 31' 7".
 
The now 6 -2 Bears will not practice today.  The Bears will be traveling to Muncie Burris Monday and at Winchester Tuesday
 
GIRLS VARSITY TRACK:  The team was victorious in last nights away meet against Wapahani & Cowan. Katarina DiBiasio came in first with a score of 20 by winning the 100, 400, 200 & long jump.  In the 4X100 relay, Burford, Deffendall, Kelley & Main got 1st.  Also, in the 4x400 relay, Kelly, Deffendall, Silvers & Norris all got 1st.  Duncan got 4th in shot put & 2nd in discuss, scoring 4 points for MC.  Overton got 3rd in shot, scoring 2 points for the MC team.  Megan Yates placed 1st in high jump, scoring 5 points.  The other contributers in the outstanding meet were Burford & Beatrice.
